True Beauty (Korean: 여신강림) Literal meaning: The Advent of a Goddess is a South Korean television series that has captured my heart which stars Moon Ga-young, Cha Eun-woo, Hwang In-youp, and Park Yoo-na. It is based on the Line Webtoon of the same name by Yaongyi, it centers on a high school girl who, after being bullied and discriminated against because of being perceived as ugly, she just has acne breakout everyone as a teenage going through puberty, who masters the art of makeup to transform herself into a gorgeous “goddess”.

This series is about Lim Ju-kyung, a high school student who always had a complex about her appearance since she was young as people often compared her to her conventionally beautiful sister. To hide her bare face, she started to wear heavy make-up to fabricate a mask inspired by her favorite horror comics. Her excellent make-up skills makes her beautiful, and convinces others that her beautiful, made-up face is her natural appearance. She befriends with her high school mate Lee Su-ho, a wealthy, but tough aloof school boy with swoon-worthy looks, and Han Seo-jun, a bad boy student with musical talents. And she is torn between both of them giving the watchers drama filled humorous incidents at every turn set to a dramatic musical score. This plot follows Ju-kyung as she navigates her daily life and its trails and tribulations to ultimately fulfill the goal of becoming a cosmetologist.
