The iconic show "Pose" is a show about the dancers and performers mainly from the LGBTQIA+ community. They are trying to search for acceptance, love and family after being rejected from their homes due to the ignorance of their respective families or failure to understand how God made them different to exist in their truths.
The stellar cast of "Pose" which is the brainchild of Ryan Murphy & Janet Mock is a tribute to the ballroom culture of the 90s. The ballroom offered an opportunity for the LGBTQIA+ community to live their authentic self as a part of the loving & accepting community. Even though the ballroom scene was underground due to extreme societal prejudice & hate, the show "POSE" does the show just that with an emphasis on choosen family, love and acceptance. And POSE also offered us true moments of just jaw-dropping fashion. Let's take a peak into the iconic fashion moments in POSE when the stellar cast strut their stuff to gag the audience with their sickening confidence, honey.(Drag speak)
The white and black concept of POSE Season 2 covers a deeper meaning as the lives of the community aren't black & white but judged by others through a lense of what they don't understand as wrong. The flowy, structured fashion is a homage to the beauty of the individuals that make up the revolutionary show POSE.
The electric character of Miss Elektra debuted the season 1 of POSE with a museum heist to display Victorian dressage at its finest dripping with jewels resting on the tall stature of Dominique Jackson aka Mother Elektra.
A vision in white is Indya Moore aka Angel, the model of the group in an authentic white Victorian royalty costume embellished in finery to accentuate their (Indya Moore is gender non-conforming who preferred pronouns are they & them)beauty. And if this wasn't enough a specter for the ruling queen of looks.
MJ Rodriguez aka Blanca plays the humble, grounded role of a house mother who takes in children (the homeless LGBTQIA+ Community youth) and provides them a home, food and most importantly love that was missing from their lives. MJ Rodriguez is a vision on this POSE cover dripped in neon la`me frills with an electric neon pink & orange dual shade makeup.
The fashion moments don't stop as POSE final and last season(crying as a hole is left in my soul) aired its final episode. The covers of Season 3 gave us disco inspired monotone looks with Dominique Jackson aka Elektra in a purple feather ensemble, MJ Rodriguez aka Blanca in a silver shiny mosaic bussiter and frill pants and the icon of gender bending fashion Billy Porter aka Pray Tell giving us orange eleganza.
This image is a special one as it features all transgender women together celebrated and appreciated for their work. From the left Indya Moore playing Angel,Hailie Sahar playing Lulu,The Director: Janet Mock, Dominique Jackson playing Elektra,Angellica Ross playing Kandy and MJ Rodriguez playing Blanca. A rarity of mainstream magazine covers but no one can deny the unmigated success of POSE.
