The MTV VMA’s Video Music Awards 2023 gave us serves from celebrities. Here are my take on the best looks.
Selena Gomez in Oscar De Le Renta Gown at the VMA’s/ Instagram
The Emmy-nominated singer, actress, and advocate (not to mention beauty entrepreneur with her brand Rare Beauty and budding culinary master) set the red carpet on fire with a showstopping sequined applique dress with a tendril skirt that was covered in an intricate pattern of leaves and flowers.
Gomez’s take on naked dressing (a Hollywood staple) came from red carpet ace designer, Oscar de la Renta. The dress offered an asymmetrical hem with carwash-style strings of florals and a delicate halter neckline that used the same strips of flowers and blossoms as her dress. The high slit was the perfect cut to show off a pair of strappy red heels from Jimmy Choo and she wore her hair pushed back and straight. She finished the look with subtle, low-key glam and dramatic diamond earrings.

Feeling monochromatic blue! Chloe Bailey, a nominee, sizzled in a Roberto Cavalli gown snitched with a bodice hugging her in all the right places with a thigh-high slit and velvet platform sandals.
Megan Thee Stallion at the VMA’s/Instagram
Before she performed the electrifying “Bongos” alongside Cardi B, nominee Megan Thee Stallion wowed in a tulle corset gown with exposed silk grosgrain boning by Brandon Blackwood NYC. She accessorized the sheer black design with a matching statement choker, bracelet and manicure.

She walked the carpet in a molten silver gown. The sparkly piece, custom-made by Ludovic de Saint Sernin, featured a figure hugging V-shaped neckline, a low back, a center back leg slit, and 1,50,000 Swarovski crystals. She upped the ante with her shoes, opting for metallic platform stilettos by Roger Vivier. And sleek hair and vampy nails completed her look.
As for her accessories, Rodrigo let her rings do the talking — namely, the same silver GUTS rings she wears on the cover of the new album.
