Making The Cut S3: Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn/ Image Credit: Amazon Prime Video
In the third season of Making the Cut, supermodel Heidi Klum and fashion guru Tim Gunn open the doors of the beautiful fully-stocked design studio with a fabric printer that can print their own textiles for assignments but not all of them. 10 established designers fly from their respective countries around the world to Los Angeles, California. They will go head to toe to compete to grab the title of being the next global fashion brand. Every week, the winning looks( runway and accessible categories) and companion pieces as well as a chance to design a capsule collection for those designers who impress this season will be available to buy on Amazon in the Making the Cut store, and the last designer standing will receive a mind-blowing amount of one million dollars to invest in their brand.

Gabriella brings sustainability to street wear using recycled materials( a green designer) and rethinking how she makes clothes( a fuck you to fast fashion retail) . Her innovative work with denim has led stylists to put her clothes on Alicia Keys, Issa Rae, Bella Hadid, and more. I am not surprised.

Yannik’s fashion career began in front of the camera when he worked as a model. He has a very striking face. He’s since switched to designing his own looks, which push norms and challenge fashion traditions — and he designs it all in white. A specialist. Interesting.

Episode 1: Evening Wear
A staple of every brand and an essential category that every designer should be able to design. Here are my favourites:

A silver glittery number that matches Heidi’s judging panel midi dress with a pant and crop top but lifted with the addition of a hot pink burlap extravaganza of ruffled accentuated shoulders. I love it as much as actress, entrepreneur and creative director of the House of Harlow, 1960,Nicole Richie does. Anthe unconventional play to combine different textures that is rough and gnarly ( burlap) with silver sequin in the words of creative director of Moschino, Jeremy Scott. And in the audience sits Season 2 winner and Pantora Designer, Andrea Pitter.

Curtis chose a burgundy see-thorough flowy shirt and pants with a train on his male model.
And the elegant accessible look with a sharp blazer with lapels and a straight fit pants
Gabriella Runway Look :

A corset on a blazer to really give an emphasis to the waist ofcolour a male model, why not in a dark red color.

I am dead. In a good way, bouncy and light gathered fabric at the waist with a modern chic look in a gold dress made from reflective material, so the light bounces out of it, catching the eye, just genius.
The accessible look is divine with an optical illusion at the waist as if the model was wearing a bustier. The red reflective material dress is just simply divine.

The ethereal purple just floats across the runway with its sculptural lines like a flower swaying to the winds accentuated with a shiny gold belt.
The luxe theme continues, Sienna’s gives an accessible couture look with a high low with dramatic shoulders in the front and a bow on the back in a classic white with a shiny gold belt tying both looks together.
A breakdown of the best looks will continue……. stay tuned!!!
